Imre - "What Happened to Jessie Brown?"

Music video for folk singer Imre's single "What Happened to Jessie Brown?". Visually and thematically, the video was inspired by dreamy, nostalgic coming-of-age-films - especially Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name.

Penvriend - "Coming Back"

This video for Penvriend's "Coming Back" illustrates the folk rock duo's friendship in an analog-like, summery film style. Shot at different locations in and around the city of Utrecht, the video mixes abstract, dreamlike footage with candid shots of Penvriend in action.

NEEF. - "Nova Star Rivel"

Music video for jazz rock trio NEEF. "Nova Star Rivel" was inspired by 1970s pulp action movies and depicts the band rushing to make an appointment they can't afford to miss. The video intersperses vintage-y, dynamic handheld shots, heavily stylized close-ups, and cartoon-style drawings.

Yakuni Tunes - "wayshewalks"

Live videos for the Yakuni Tunes project, in which I was also involved musically. The video series registered live versions of tracks from the band's debut EP, recorded as several locations in Utrecht. "Wayshewalks" was filmed at Skatepark Utrecht, and interpolates imagery that captures the atmosphere of this skater den.

Thistle Sifter - "The Great Conjunction"

Music video and live visuals for Thistle Sifter, a post-rock project by English musician Pete Barnes. To capture Thistle Sifter's moody ambiance, the videos integrate hand-drawn animations with newly shot footage and digital collages made from archival, copyright-free documentaries and scientific drawings.

SONGBIRD SESSIONS

Since 2021, Utrecht-based independent record label has been hosting the Songbird Sessions at the ZIMIHC Theater. In these sessions, up-and-coming artists from Utrecht take to the stage while IJsvogel records them. I edited these videos.

NEEF - "Amelis"

Editing for music video by jazz rock trio NEEF. When it was announced that national park Amelisweerd would be cut down to make way for a highway, jazz rock trio NEEF. wrote and recorded protest song "Amelis." The music video for the track - which I edited on the basis of newly shot footage of the national park and the band, as well as archival footage of earlier conservation protests - is an ode to Amelisweerd and an indictment of those pushing for demolition from an undemocratic, top-down level.

Heavy Whipped Cream - "January Brings the Rain"

Promotional video for the single "January Brings the Rain." I shared camera duties with Truus Hazebroek and edited the video, which heavily references the promotional clip for Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale," as well as several other artists from the sixties and seventies.

ZIMIHC Sessions

In 2022-2023, I shot and edited videos for the Utrecht-based ZIMIHC Sessions. These sessions, which form a collaborative effort between IJsvogel Records and the ZIMIHC Theater, offer promising but unknown singer-songwriters and musicians a chance to record a live performance.

"Wizard's Hat"

I made this animated short in 2019. It was inspired by fantasy animation films from the 1970s and 1980s, and built on the style I developed for my ARTMAUS project. It was shown at several expositions in 2019 and 2020.
